Increased catalytic activity in the presence of psi-waves accelerates the separation of gas mixture components, resulting in higher yields of useful fractions. When it is placed in a Vespene Refinery, it increases its production by 10%.
Due to limited throughput, absorber efficiency decreases for high production refinery. To maintain maximum efficiency, an additional absorber should be added for each refinery level above the 30th level. Absorbers also lose efficiency dramatically if gas sources are depleted. In case of depletion, the bonus is reduced 5 times. For example, at 10% depletion the item's bonus drops by 50% (twice), at 20% and above it disappears completely.
Once per hour, an active absorber has a 0.125% chance of breaking down.
