Damned Pirates be stealin my doubloons!, Improper debris drop from mobile pirates

It is clear something new is affot with the pirate AI, but since it is an unannounced change, I cant really speak to if it is functioning correctly, but I beleive that I shold get debris and components dropped from killing them.
So here is the story;
23 Nov 16:56:54 I kill a pirate at [185:881:3]https://xcraft.net/battle/index.php?battle_id=dbe1aed2c83c49e28eb0869b15d024cc , and immediately after, his 2 buddies jump me and try to steal my recycles (see SS1, they fly recycle mission).
They fly to other coords on HO, and begin recycling (ss2), so I attack them.
the first is seemingly killed normally at

It's not a bug. Pirates now can get debris and dropped components.
