meshoo, most likely you need to send more ships into the expedition. What was your fleet composition?

meshoo, that is a small fleet. As I heard, you need at least 10 ships of same type to control fleets you find, but I'm not sure about the details.

As developers told me, you need to have ships of the type you want to control. For example, you have sent 5 Fighters and found some more. You then get a random percentage from 1% to 100%. It is upgraded by some factors like your Expedition Technology level and expedition duration. The final percentage is applied to amount of ships of given type in your fleet: in our example it is 5. If the percent was lower than 20, your fleet of 5 Fighters won't get new ships.
In the worst case you'll need 100 ships to guarantee that 1 new can be controlled, but with higher technology level and mission duration you'll need much less.

It's hard to answer this question. Higher technology levels increase your findings, but take more and more resources to develop. And longer durations mean that you can perform less expeditions in a day, so maybe several short expeditions would be more profitable than one long. Sending bigger fleets will also increase your risks in case of black holes. Expeditions are too random to theorize, and I have no practical experience with them either.

Warnings
Just sent 10 fighters to expedition for 4 hours and got 13 back
However lost way more than what's gained so far to black bloody holes
But its fun gambling :)
