Colonization time can now be lowered by sending multiple colonizers at once. Minimum time would be now 24/[square root of colonizers amount] hours, rounded up (so no less than 1 hour).
Gigalords count as 100 Lurkers each when this acceleration is calculated, and, as before, stay on the object after completing the colonization. Regular colonizers spend 1 ship, as before, to complete the order. A quick reminder, colonization can only be done using units of your race, so “alien” ships wouldn't count for acceleration either.
If colonizers are lost during the fight for object, required hold time would increase. For example, you sent 10 colonizers with 8 hour hold time, but 9 of them were killed, extending your hold time by 16 hours (to make total hold time 24 hours).
If fleets are merged, the standard merge method is applied, that is, maximum hold time of the two fleets is taken.
While executing the order, colonizers are not allowed to leave the fleet. They must stay on object, or the whole fleet should abandon the operation and leave.
“Alien” colonizers are not bounded by this restriction. If colonization was “botched” by placing the fleet on infinite hold, this restriction does not apply.

UncleanOne, It's unclear to me how it could be possible that one colony ship out of 10 on the planets to be colonized could survive after a normally aimed attack?

Marek, it probly means if theres been a battle and its timed out and there is 1 left out of it as an example instead of him having to do the maths on the exact amount

cpt_hunters1, this shows that you don't have any real combat experience.... sorry... if someone wants to kill ships, he will kill all of them - if necessary with a 2nd approach....
An example can only be a meaningful example when all the factors that would in fact take place are taken into account...
